SENCo Level 1 — Foundations of SEND & Inclusion
Level 1 provides the essential foundation for effective SEND leadership in early years.
It introduces the core principles of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, inclusive practice, and the importance of early identification.

Learners explore how additional needs may present in early childhood, why inclusive environments matter, and how practitioners contribute to recognising and supporting children at the earliest stage. This level establishes the baseline knowledge needed before progressing into more applied SEND support and coordination responsibilities.
SENCo Level 2 — Early Identification, Support & Graduated Practice
Level 2 builds on the foundations established in Level 1 and focuses on the practical application of SEND support within early years settings.
It strengthens practitioner knowledge of observation, assessment, early intervention, and the graduated approach.

Learners explore how to identify emerging needs, implement supportive strategies, adapt practice, and work effectively with families and professionals. This level helps bridge the gap between understanding SEND principles and applying them consistently in day-to-day provision, forming a key part of effective SEND coordination.
SENCo Level 3 — SEND Leadership, Coordination & Strategic Practice
Level 3 brings the pathway together by focusing on the leadership responsibilities of the Early Years SENCo.
It supports learners in developing the skills needed to lead inclusive practice, coordinate SEND provision, and strengthen whole-setting approaches to support.

Learners examine the strategic role of the SENCo in guiding staff, working with families, liaising with external professionals, overseeing SEND systems, and embedding inclusive practice across the setting. This final level is designed to help practitioners move into confident SEND leadership with a clear understanding of both operational and strategic responsibilities.
Inspection Prep: Promoting Inclusive Practice
This bonus course supports practitioners in understanding how inclusive practice is evaluated during early years inspection.
It explores safeguarding, SEND provision, and the needs of vulnerable or disadvantaged children within the context of the EYFS and inspection framework.

Learners examine how settings identify barriers to learning, implement inclusive support, and demonstrate strong leadership of provision. The course also explores how inspectors evaluate inclusive practice, safeguarding awareness, and partnership working during inspection.
Included as a free course within the SENCo pathway bundle, this training helps practitioners strengthen their confidence in evidencing inclusive provision and demonstrating how their setting supports every child to belong, participate, and achieve.
