Course Details

This course is structured into ten short modules designed to develop practitioner confidence in early identification, assessment, and support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in early years settings.

Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this course learners will be able to:
• Understand how early identification supports children with additional needs
• Recognise the role of observation in identifying SEND
• Understand the graduated approach to SEND support
• Develop confidence adapting practice to support children’s participation
• Understand how assessment supports SEND planning
• Recognise the importance of partnership with families
• Understand how practitioners contribute to SEND support plans
• Identify when additional professional support may be required
